The Hawaii Gay Flag Football League (HIGFFL) is the Hawaii chapter of the National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL). Each spring, the HIGFFL organizes and coordinates a competitive season of 7-on-7 flag football. All skill levels are encouraged to participate. We are committed to providing a comfortable and enjoyable setting for those who want to play football and promote camaraderie within our community.

There are many ways to get involved. Play, volunteer, sponsor or become a member of our sideline squad, Team Mimosa.

The Honolulu Riptide is a tournament travel team composed of players from the HIGFFL. The Riptide competes in The Gay Bowl, an annual national tournament held in September or October.

Try outs for the Riptide occur in July following the League regular season. Players commit to regular weekly practices through the summer.  We aim to field our best players.

Gay Bowl XVIII is in Denver, Colorado during the weekend of September 13-16, 2018.

The Aloha Classic is an annual pick-up flag football tournament that occurs in February during President’s Day weekend.

Individual players are placed on teams and compete through the weekend.

In addition to flag football, tournament players and non-players are encouraged to participate in events that include an opening pool party and luau, optional sunset booze cruise, dance parties and excursion to a private island on Oahu’s windward side.
